Main service(s)
Hypervault is a SaaS product providing secret management. The product goes well beyond the traditional password management and can handle many types of sensitive information (passwords, licences, contracts, etc).
Hypervault is geared towards B2B use cases, where team and sharing options are front and centre.
Differentiators
Data residency
Hypervault is a European solution: the product is built in Belgium. It is hosted by a European hosting company and data resides in the EU. A fact which should put privacy and data protection sensitive companies at ease with regards to their privacy regulation concerns.
Going beyond password management
From the start, Hypervault was built to handle different types of sensitive information. Secure storage of licences or contracts isn’t an afterthought.
In fact, while the IT departments are often the first buyers, Hypervault notices that other departments naturally adopt the solution for their needs.
Team first and sharing options
The origin use case of Hypervault (sharing secrets with many different organisations) means that team and sharing concepts are central to the solution. This is coupled with a licence model that does not charge organisations for inviting their customers on the platform.
The above makes Hypervault an interesting solution for companies with requirements to share secrets across organisations.
Future plans
Now that Hypervault has successfully launched their solution, they are focusing on incorporating feedback from existing customers and adding new customers.
Company history
Glenn Van Croonenborch and Thierry Dupont had the original idea for hypervault in 2018. Both were working in marketing agencies and were managing many websites, licences, passwords or other sensitive information for a large number of customers.
Managing this many secrets quickly became untenable. Glenn and Thierry looked at the existing tools and found them lacking for their use case (many different sensitive attributes for many organisations), so they decided to build their own solution.
In 2019, a first MVP was ready. Launching this MVP, Glenn and Thierry managed to sell 3000 licences in 24 hours. This success gave them the confidence to further develop their product.
With the help of a VLAIO grant and a third cofounder (Sven Böhne), hypervault evolved from a MVP to a full-fledged product. The product was launched in June 2022. Since then, hypervault has been busy iterating between improving the product and selling to their core B2B market.
